Explore this 1974 Airstream and enjoy 'life in the slow lane'

Located in Morongo Valley, California, there is a desert glamping getaway perfect for travelers who enjoy star-filled nights and mountain views. The RV resort is called High Desert: Life in the Slow Lane. The host, Shari Elf, owns the resort as well as The Art Queen Gallery located in nearby Joshua Tree. Shari recycles other people's trash and turns it into artistic treasures. With the same creative mindset, she has transformed her 1974 Airstream from a rusty tin can she found on the side of the road, into a colorful and unique vacation spot.
The Airstream is available to rent through Airbnb. The host writes, "I love sharing my desert palace with those who appreciate the simple things in life." High Desert has been targeted by both celebrities and fashion photographers who are looking for a stylish and imaginative destination. From the Airstream, visitors can gaze out at both the San Bernardino and the San Jacinto Mountains. The resort's proximity to other major California destinations is also impressive: High Desert is located just 20 minutes from Joshua Tree and 30 minutes from Palm Springs.

High Desert is located on a quiet dirt road. You will be convinced that you've booked the right place when you see the beautiful views on the drive in.
The interior of the Airstream has an eclectic and colorful style that exemplifies the visionary art that the host creates.
Inside, you will find one full bed. The host got inventive when deciding how she would patch up a hole in one of the walls. We love how she accomplished it through recycled metal signs.
If you want to be a little more adventurous, there is also a bed outside allowing guests to sleep under the stars and the moon.
The Airstream's living area is uncluttered, leaving enough floor space to pull out the extra mattress and create an additional sleeping area. The decor largely consists of handmade art, special thrift store finds, and retro furniture.
The host provides plenty of extra blankets and board games for chilly, desert nights.
This breakfast nook is the perfect place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee...
...and the outdoor seating is the perfect place for a dinner party.
The bath house is separate from the trailer. The glass box located on the side is a solar water heater. In fact, the whole compound is powered by solar energy.
Inside the bath house, you will find a roomy clawfoot bathtub. Fill it up and enjoy a nice hot bath, but remember to use eco-friendly soaps because the water drains directly into and nourishes the garden.
Outside, you will find many seating areas such as this lovely, wooden swing.
