Take a look at a top-to-bottom 1976 Rancho El Rae remodel: The kitchen is perfect

Although it is incredibly rewarding in the end, renovating a vintage camper is always full of surprises. Or at least that is what Will and Camie Shill learned when they set out to buy a 1976 Rancho El Rae before going on a trip to Mexico. They purchased their 14-foot tin can trailer thinking it would be good as new with just a few cosmetic changes. Camie writes on her blog Will & Cam, "Super long story short we would NEVER do it again!"
After admittedly not doing the proper research before bringing the trailer home, the couple found themselves neck deep in projects that they felt could never be done in the five weeks before their vacation. She describes the renovation as a "frame off" fixer upper – basically everything had to go.

Despite the long hours and sleepless nights, we think this family's hard work was totally worth it. What is more pleasing than spending vacation in a something that you made beautiful again?
The Rancho El Rae went from this bare shack on two wheels...
...to this welcoming home away from home.
After what seemed like a never-ending demolition phase, Cam wrote that it wasn't long before she started to prefer her trailer over her house.
She says, "A couple plants, a little bit of copper and voila home sweet trailer!" The wood and copper details against the white really opens up the limited space.
The couple ripped out the old, rotting floor and replaced it with this dark hardwood. This seating area can be converted into a queen-sized bed in the evening and is a great space for a small family.
