Step inside Elsie, the renovated 1968 FAN trailer

A trailer from the 1960s has been revamped into a modern home with a vintage twist. By utilizing some of the great bones this trailer had — like the cabinets and the dinette — Mel and Carson, the bloggers behind Local Color XC, were able to freshen up this space with some paint and elbow grease.
They also added some twists of their own — like a fold-out desk and an awesome wood backsplash that plays on the wood-paneled sixties vibe this trailer once sported. Inside you'll be so impressed by the design, you might just forget how tiny this space really is.

From the outside, this looks like any old trailer, but once inside, you realize it's anything but.
Stepping inside, you see a good amount of closet space and the tiny but functional bathroom. For such a little trailer, it really has all the essentials — plus a lot of style.
The rest of the space is light and bright with a vintage flare. The cabinets are original, but they've been freshened up, as have the walls.
The kitchen is fully functional with a fridge, stove and sink. Carson and Mel also installed this great wood backsplash, which adds a lot of warmth to the space.
From the kitchen, you can head to the dinette which seats four. We love all the natural light that comes pouring into this space.
But wait a minute — wasn't that a table just a minute ago? After dinner's been devoured, the dinette is pulled out into a full-size bed covered in beautiful linens. Plus, curtains flank the bed to add some extra privacy.
Finally, the workspace. This desk folds out when you need it, and it's tucked against the wall when you don't. Perfect for such a small space, and it gives the extra counter space when you need it.
