Behold this pristine 1973 Airstream Sovereign: You can call her Michelle

Form and function are the most important qualifiers of good design and this 1973 Airstream Sovereign has been crafted to excel well past the standards of both. The Airstream was renovated by Hofmann Architecture, a Santa Barbara-based firm run by the father/son duo Matthew and Wally Hofmann. While purchasing and renovating vintage trailers has become a widespread trend accessible to almost anyone, Hofmann Architecture is the only licensed architecture firm in the world who specializes in the design of mobile spaces. The firm has designed everything from homes on wheels, mobile offices, retail trailers, and even food trucks.
An architect's job is to create meaningful spaces by having a concrete understanding of "design, harmony, balance, and scale" and that understanding is apparent the moment you step inside Michelle, the vintage Airstream Sovereign. The trailer was named after the 1967 ballad by The Beatles because "like the song, this 1973 Airstream Sovereign possess a deeper breadth of functionality and hidden qualities beneath the silver skin". Michelle is the perfect home for a family who is interested in adventure, versatility, and a non-traditional way of living. Michelle's interior has tons of sleek surfaces and state-of-the-art features: Let's check them out below.

Rustic barn wood is used to contrast the white walls and smooth finishes throughout the Airstream. The result is clean and minimal without looking sterile.
The U-shaped lounge area is enough room for the whole family to enjoy a meal together. The dining table is automated and can be adjusted by a flick of a switch.
Versatility was a key concept when the architects were designing this Airstream. In order to provide a separate sleeping area for both parents and children, the lounge area can be transformed into a queen sized bed.
Michelle's advanced floor and wall heating systems allow the owners to travel to the coldest destinations without feeling a chill.
Since Michelle was designed with a family in mind, it was important for the architects to utilize easy to clean surfaces in the kitchen.
On the other side of the home, you will find bunk beds for the kids. The bottom bunk has the hi-tech ability to extend into a full-sized mattress with just one button.  She also features another Airstream rarity: a washer and dryer.
Beyond the frosted glass door, you'll find an immaculate, modern bathroom. The bathroom features a self-draining teak drop-in floor.

No one likes to step out of their hot shower and into the cold air. In order to achieve ultimate comfort, the Airstream's bathroom even comes with a towel warmer.
