Learn about how one couple achieved a happier, healthier life by moving into an RV

Saying goodbye to the life you've already established in order to downsize and move into an RV can leave your friends asking, "what were you thinking?" Vanessa and Marisa Roaman got used to answering that question when they decided to leave behind their beachside bungalow to live full-time in their 2007 Itasca Navion named Maude. The couple wanted a life with more time and less financial responsibilities. Quitting their jobs and purchasing Maude were definitely the first steps to making those wishes come true.
Working in an office all day, spending your entire paycheck on bills, and rarely having any time for personal enjoyment can really wear on a person. Marisa writes, "I was not happy, fulfilled, or experiencing anything but a conventional life I thought I was supposed to partake in." She determined that if they had less stuff to pay for, they could live a freer and more mindful life. You can read more about their lives, travels, and their awesome home on their website The Roamans' Blog.

The Roamans determined that you don't need much to live a perfectly comfortable life. When you enter their home, it is clear that a couple of cherished items are always better than holding onto things we don't use.
Giving away almost all of your belongings allows you to focus on the objects that are truly pleasurable to you and that also play an important role in your home.
As health fiends and vegetarians, Marisa and Vanessa spend a lot of time in their small kitchen. We love the addition of the white tile backsplash.
Just because you are moving into a small space, that doesn't mean there won't be room for decoration. This picture wall is a perfect form of self-expression.
Despite Maude's petite size, there are plenty of areas for relaxing such as this plush couch or the convertible dinette.
The bathroom is standard RV size, but is plenty of room for two girls and their dogs.
The best part is, Vanessa and Marisa get to fall asleep under the stars knowing that they get to wake up and experience the adventure all over again.
